ROTOVATING
Rotovating an allotment plot
This is me rotovating an allotment plot for a customer in the Greenhill area of Coalville.
The hardest part about getting an allotment plot at the beginning, is that the land needs rotovating to a level where someone can start creating their own ideas from a blank canvas, The customer can then begin to start the next stage of an allotment project. I however, have been assigned to only complete the rotovating of the land.
I have a heavy duty rotovator that ploughs through land at an average pace. However, I first had to remove the odd stone, peices of wood and various other obstructions that was left by the previous allotment plot owner, so not to damage the machine.
I made sure to check the boundries of the allotment plot and to double check that any waterpipes, cables or any other obstructions didn't run under the allotment plot land - This is to make sure that I don't cause any damage to anything below the surface of the soil.
I then strimmed the land to reduce the heights of the grass and other various weeds; that has been left to grow on the land. I was then able to fully rotovate the land within a few hours. Now the customer will be able to carry on with their allotment project.
